By carving the trunk and within his typical way of composing, constructing and combining single carefully chosen, completely different types of wood, Hans Leitner tries to use the tension of the material for his sculptures. The resulting variety of shapes gives a new perspective of the sculpture, which finally is a dispute with life, the search and reflection on the origin of life.

Born on August 5, 1953, in Pöllau, mercantile apprenticeship, with some change to metal-working. 1972 first sculptures in wood. Significant input by the academic sculptor Prof. Johannes Obleitner. Selftought. Freelancing since 1979.
Approval as an artist by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science. Member of the Professionel Association of Plastic Artists in Austria.
Exhibitions with the ART FORUM, in the gallery "KUL"-Bruck/Mur; Haus der Begegnung (house of meetings) in Maria Saal and so on.

Hl. Geist Kirche (Holy Ghost Church) St. Gallen/Switzerland; Pičta in St. Liborium Chapel, Bochum/BRD; relief in St. Peter's parish-church; sculpture "Communication" in the residual area "New Life" in Leberberg/Vienna; "Dancing Childrens" in the School of Europe in Lisboa/Portugal and so on.
